Farewell Walter Hafner

It was with great sadness that we received the news of the much too early death of our company founder, Walter Hafner.

About 50 years ago, Mr. Willy Haudenschild had the first personal contact with Walter Hafner when he was still working for the company Jakob. From 1980, now under the newly founded Gerwah GmbH, Haudenschild AG had a competent, solution-oriented partner in him for all coupling problems. His immense knowledge and skills in coupling technology have always distinguished him. Even when he left Gerwah GmbH, there was no hesitation for Haudenschild AG to join him in founding Hafner Fertigungstechnik GmbH, the foundation of today's HA-CO GmbH.
In this now independent phase of his life, he distinguished himself by his drive and expertise. Many beautiful project solutions and interesting customer visits followed, which were always very much appreciated by our customers.

Walter liked to tell how he, for example, glued the first bellows couplings together at home and let the glue harden in the stove, or proudly bought the first CNC lathes and milling machines.
Walter Hafner was always open to new technologies, whether in the workshop or in design, which was his passion. He was always eager to offer innovative solutions to the clientele, which also earned him the Bavarian State Prize "Franz-Josef-Strauss" in 1986.
In 2013, he sold his company, Hafner Maschinenbau GmbH to Haudenschild Holding AG, and it was newly integrated into the HA-CO Group under the name HA-CO GmbH.
For a few more years, until his well-deserved retirement, he accompanied us with advice and action.

We now have to say goodbye to a great partner, devoted employee and dear friend.

Rest in peace, in heartfelt sympathy Werner Haudenschild, Patrick Nauer and the whole HA-CO Group
