Transmission test bench for testing of couplings

In day-to-day technical operations, no mistakes are allowed to happen and parts and other components must always be reliable. Under strictly controlled conditions, the individual parts undergo tests on extreme circumstances and various load scenarios. This is to verify that they are completely safe and functional even in exceptional situations. Special attention is paid to precise measured values, which must not be influenced by external factors under any circumstances. Special features of line shafts
When we talk about line shafts here, we are referring to all coupling types with different materials for bridging center distances of up to six meters in overall length. Despite their differences, they all share a common feature: they have a variable-length intermediate tube that can be individually adapted to specific applications.

Line shafts are often also used as backlash-free spacer couplings (also called connecting shafts, cardan shafts or synchronous shafts) and can therefore replace conventional intermediate shaft designs with additional intermediate bearings. Misalignments, such as parallel misalignment in particular, are now compensated for on a massive scale. Line shafts (e.g. model SWC made of carbon) also offer many other advantages:

• High misalignment compensation of the shaft ends to be connected
• torsionally stiff (with metal bellows)
• vibration damping (with elastomer core)
• Variable lengths and bore diameters

Transmission test bench as a special application
In order to test the decisive quality criteria of stiffness and damping, the test stand is used for testing couplings close to production. Not only endurance runs can be performed, but also dynamic coupling properties can be determined.
