What are the types and applications?

Safety coupling
A safety coupling protects driving machines from damage that can be caused, for example, by blocking or overloading of the driven working machines. The clutch separates both sides of the drive train in the event of an overload and thus prevents damage to the drive elements.

Pneumatic safety couplings
Pneumatic safety clutches work with compressed air technology and limit the torque exactly to the specified value via the air pressure. This prevents downtime and damage in the event of overload.

Metal bellows couplings & precision couplings

Metal bellows couplings are torsionally stiff couplings, also known as servo couplings, corrugated tube couplings, bellows couplings, miniature couplings or torsionally stiff couplings.
They are used for precise transmission of the angle of rotation. By compensating for radial, axial and angular misalignments, the rotary motion is transmitted backlash-free from one shaft end to the other.

Misalignments on the shafts caused by manufacturing and assembly inaccuracies, as well as thermal expansion and other deformation, are compensated for by the laterally, angularly and axially flexible metal bellows. The main difference to rigid couplings is that no unacceptably high bearing loads occur with bellows couplings, which can be the case with rigid couplings.

Keyways and the like are generally not necessary. The couplings have a metal bellows made of stainless steel, are easy to assemble, wear- and maintenance-free and extremely compact.

Elastomer Couplings & Claw Couplings
The elastomer coupling is used for damping shocks and certain vibrations as well as for compensating misalignments in lateral, angular and axial misalignments.
Depending on the requirements, an elastomer with a high degree of damping (low torsional stiffness or hardness) is used for highly vibrating systems or strong shocks and an elastomer coupling with low damping properties (high torsional stiffness and hardness) is used for small vibrations or light shocks.

Elastomer couplings from HA-CO are low-wear and maintenance-free. Speeds up to 30,000/min can be achieved by fine balancing. For high loads and speeds, the elastomer is reinforced with fabric made of textile or metal threads. Most elastomer couplings are electric. HA-CO couplings also feature maximum precision due to their backlash-free torque transmissions, even in delicate applications, and will never let you down.

Spring bar couplings & all metal couplings
The spring bar coupling is a torsionally rigid compensating coupling which ensures angularly accurate power transmission. It is also known as a slotted coupling or all-metal coupling.
The slotted structure makes it possible to compensate for axial, radial and angular shaft misalignment. In addition, it not only exhibits unconditional stability at the highest speeds and a low mass moment of inertia, but also enables maximum torsional stiffness during dynamic load changes. The spring plug-in coupling consists of only one component and therefore has a low mass moment of inertia.
