Precise linear axis with ball screw drive

Serie TH (Precision System)

The linear axes of the TH series are torsion-resistant, compact linear units with ball screw drive. They enable high positioning and repeat accuracy in all process phases with optimum performance. The repeat accuracy is within 5 µm.

The thrust force is transmitted by highly efficient ball screws, which are available in various precision classes and thread pitches. The linear motion is performed by two or four preloaded LM blocks with ball cage technology mounted on two precisely aligned rails. The TH Series is available with single or double carriages to meet various load requirements.

TH Series LM units also feature a safety rail and ball screw lubrication through separate lubrication lines for each component. With their incredibly compact design, the TH Series linear axes are the ideal solution for applications where space is limited.

Base plate and carriage made of aluminium: The base plate and carriages of the Rollon linear axis of the TH series were developed and built in cooperation with leading companies in the industry. The anodized extrusion profiles show high precision and very good mechanical properties. The dimensions are tolerated according to EN 755-9. The material used is the aluminium alloy 6060. On the outside of the extrusion profiles are grooves for easy and quick mounting and/or fixing of accessories.

Carriage: The carriages of the Rollon linear axis of the TH series are made of anodised aluminium and form the interface between the linear unit and the user's adjacent construction. Two profile rails arranged in parallel with two or four preloaded linear carriages ensure that high forces and high load moments are reliably supported. The linear carriages are also equipped with a ball chain. The following characteristics are achieved with the above described guidance system:

  • High running parallelism
  • High positioning accuracy
  • High load ratings and high rigidity
  • Low wear and tear
  • Low displacement resistance

Drive system: Rollon linear axes of the TH series use precision rolled ball screws with preloaded or non-preloaded nuts. The standard precision grade for the ball screws used is ISO 7, but ISO 5 is also available on request. The ball screws of the linear axes are available with different diameters and pitches. With the technology described above, the following characteristics are achieved:

  • High speeds (for ball screws with large lead)
  • High feed forces
  • High accuracy
  • High mechanical performance
  • Low wear and tear
  • Low displacement resistance

Cover: The Rollon linear axes of the TH series are equipped with cover strips to protect the mechanical components from contamination.<br/>In addition, both the recirculating ball guides and the ball screws are equipped with wipers or seals that act directly on the ball tracks.
