Vertical linear axis SC from Rollon - HA-CO Switzerland

SC (Plus System)

The linear axes of the SC series have been specially designed for use as vertical axes in gantry construction, or for applications where the aluminium profile moves while the carriage is stationary.

The linear axes of the SC series are available in three sizes with 65 mm, 130 mm and 160 mm. They consist of a self-supporting profile made of extruded, anodized aluminum (square profile for the SC 65 size).

The vertical SC system is characterized by high stability, which is achieved by using two parallel LM Guides, four maintenance-free LM carriages with ball cages and a very wide drive belt.

The SC Series is designed for high load capacity and fast duty cycles. Its special design allows it to be combined with the compatible LM axes of the ROBOT Series without the need for adapter plates.

Extruded profiles: The self-supporting profiles used in the SC Series linear units have been designed and constructed in collaboration with a manufacturer in this sector, allowing the realization of precision anodized extrusions with high mechanical characteristics and high moments of inertia. The material used is anodised aluminium made of alloy 6060, with dimensions tolerated according to EN 755-9. On the outside of the extruded profiles there are also grooves for quick assembly of the adjacent construction or accessories. Inside the profile there are hollow chambers which can be used for the passage of power cables, pneumatic hoses etc.

Drive belt: The linear units of the SC series use steel-reinforced polyurethane timing belts with AT tooth profile. This type of timing belt has proven to be the most suitable for drive transmission in linear units in terms of permissible drive torques, compactness and noise generation. The combination with zero backlash timing belt pulleys thus enables alternating loads without backlash. The following properties can be achieved by utilising the maximum timing belt width specified by the profile and setting an optimum belt pretension:

  • High travel speeds
  • Low noise emission
  • Low wear and tear

Carriage: Inside the carriage there are the drive toothed belt pulley and two deflection pulleys, which allow the drive toothed belt pulley to roll on the stationary toothed belt. The individual parts of the carriage are made of anodised aluminium. The dimensions vary according to the different versions. One side of the carriage is designed as a mounting plate with through holes, which is intended for direct mounting with the respective carriages of the SC series linear units. Brush seals are inserted in the side and front parts of the carriage, which make it difficult for dirt to penetrate.
