E-SMART (Smart System)
The E-SMART series comprises linear units with self-supporting extruded aluminium profiles, which are available in four sizes from 30 to 100 mm. They are driven by a steel-reinforced polyurethane toothed belt. One or more recirculating ball bearing guides are mounted on the single rail.

Extruded profile: The anodised aluminium extrusions used for the housings of the Rollon E-SMART series linear units have been designed and manufactured in collaboration with a leading company in this field, in order to obtain the right combination of high mechanical strength and reduced weight. The 6060 alloy used for the anodised aluminium (see below for physical and chemical characteristics) has been extruded with dimensional tolerances that comply with the EN 755-9 standard.
Drive belt: The linear units of the E-SMART series use steel-reinforced polyurethane timing belts with AT tooth profile. This type of timing belt has proven to be the most suitable for drive transmission in linear units in terms of permissible drive torques, compactness and noise generation. The combination with zero backlash timing belt pulleys thus enables alternating loads without backlash. The following properties can be achieved by utilising the maximum timing belt width specified by the profile and setting an optimum belt pretension:
- High travel speeds
- Low noise emission
- Low wear and tear
Carriage: The carriage of the linear units of the E-SMART series is made of anodised aluminium. Carriages are available in two lengths for each type of linear unit.
